The first phase mainly involves six tasks: establishing the position of Chief Environmental Officer, establishing a dedicated team responsible for promoting the planning and implementation of the Qingshan Plan, and reporting to the General Manager of Meituan Delivery by the Chief Environmental Officer; Add the option of 'no need for disposable tableware' on the Meituan takeout client, and encourage users to participate in self prepared tableware activities in the future; Every month, Meituan Takeout Environmental Protection Day is held to promote environmental protection concepts and public welfare plans to users and businesses; Continue to plan environmental protection packaging promotion projects with relevant departments, scientific research institutions, public welfare organizations, etc., and promise to add environmental protection labels and screening items to catering enterprises that use environmental protection packaging; We will regularly invite relevant institutions to hold takeout environmental seminars, and invite environmental professionals, public welfare institutions, media, and user representatives to form an environmental advisory group to contribute their talents; In addition, public email addresses are also set up to accept public suggestions and supervision.

Five major measures to protect delivery riders

With the rapid development of the delivery industry, the traffic safety issues of delivery riders have attracted widespread attention. Meituan Takeout attaches great importance to the traffic safety of riders. Wang Puzhong said that the improvement in delivery speed should be brought about by product optimization iterations and the efficiency improvement of intelligent scheduling systems, and it must not be achieved by riders risking traffic safety risks.

A few months ago, Meituan Delivery established a dedicated traffic safety team to coordinate and implement comprehensive measures, including closely contacting the traffic police departments in the jurisdiction where each distribution station is located to conduct safety training and learning electric vehicle safety training courseware.

According to incomplete statistics, from July to August this year, more than 300 training sessions have been conducted, and the level of traffic safety has been improved through incentive assessment adjustments, management process optimization, and technological innovation measures. Data shows that the traffic accident rate in August decreased by 13.6% compared to July.

Wang Puzhong said that by the end of this year, Meituan takeout will continue to solve the problem from five aspects.

——Reasonably control and optimize the number of orders received by riders to avoid excessive orders and pressure, leading to violations of traffic regulations and speeding;

——Through technological innovation and big data application, the average speed and riding trajectory of riders will be monitored, and traffic safety monitoring will be strengthened. In the future, communication and coordination with traffic management departments will be carried out on road conditions and signal lights;

——Strengthen the appeal and assistance mechanism for riders in special situations, such as encountering adverse weather, inability to reach users, or breakdown of delivery trucks, allowing riders to quickly provide feedback as soon as possible;

——Distribution franchisees are prohibited from punishing riders for each delayed order, and should be assessed based on comprehensive indicators such as riders' dress code, service code, safety compliance, and delivery experience;

——Increase internal and external investment and promotion of safety awareness education for riders, push safety tips and other learning materials internally on the rider client, and continuously invite traffic management departments to conduct on-site lectures, traffic safety cases, and other training externally to enhance riders' awareness of complying with traffic regulations and civilized travel.
